Migraines: My Grains?

Coaching Grain MigrainesMigraines…OUCH! Is it what you’re eating? Most definitely! Other triggers are hormone imbalances, stress, weather changes, perfumes, light, and more. Everyone is different. My son would get migraines often and also debilitating pain in the stomach for days. His eyes had dark circles, brain fog, lack of concentration, anxiety, joint pain, nausea, and weight loss. He couldn’t function. He would retreat to a hot bath for comfort and miss school . I also experienced migraines during PMS or if I ate certain foods. I then had our food sensitivity and genetic testing done and then knew why we were feeling this way. My son and I share many of the same markers in our DNA and food sensitivity list. We have quiet a few markers with single and double mutations but one of the main genetic mutations was MTHFR C677T. When we received our results back from the testing, we then removed from our diet wheat, grain, gluten, eggs (egg whites and yolks-there’s a difference), dairy, soy beans, ages meats, sugar, lentils, soy sauce, garlic (can you believe it?) as we had a high sensitivity to these foods and our genetics were being affected. We also added in targeted nutriceuticals that were specific towards our genetic mutations to restore the cell cycle and keep those bad genes off. Our health turned around immediately. No more migraines! We also are in balance in weight, serotonin, dopamine, and are now anti-inflammatory! Cheers on that!Other contributing factors came to light as well when we discovered digestion markers as well so a probiotic was in order. Luckily, as a health coach and certified herbalist, I already had probiotics in our refrigerator as a staple.

So much can be learned from a simple cheek swab and finger prick. Then, diet is key.This is why I am so passionate about helping others in my coaching. I call this “KNOW” dieting…and I would love to help you. They say, “Genetics loads the gun…lifestyle pulls the trigger.”
